"The Web of Deranged Life" offers a visionary exploration of the ultimate convergence between Nature and Technology, where organic and synthetic lifeforms intertwine. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Indian concept of Maha Indrajaal—the Great Net of the King of Gods—the installation embodies the idea that all life is woven into an intricate, interconnected web governed by universal laws.

In this imagination, the natural and digital worlds merge to create deranged forms. Insects, sea creatures, fungi, and other beings transform, fusing with machines and digital structures in an uncanny evolutionary process.

Presented as an immersive projection environment, the installation invites visitors to step inside and become a part of this evolving web. Interactive sensors enable participants to encounter and engage with the deranged creatures. As you move through this digital ecosystem, you weave your presence into the network, where the boundaries of life, nature, and technology dissolve into one interconnected, algorithmic system.

ABOUT THE ARTIST(S)

Ocupus, based in Goa (India), is a media arts studio focused on creating immersive projection mapping and interactive installations. Their work bridges the digital and physical worlds, bringing ideas to form through video installations, interactive art, and the visual interpretation of music.

This project is visualized and programmed by Yash Chandak (Cursorama), co-founder and creative director of Ocupus. Yash’s background in generative graphics, and his strong ties to electronic music VJing culture have been pivotal in shaping the studio’s distinctive approach to immersive media. Complementing the visuals is a generative soundscape composed by new media artist, Dennis Peter (Non-Linear), adding a dynamic auditory dimension to the experience.
